Fall Preventative Maintenance Reminder

The changing leaves and crisp fall air are a bittersweet reminder that summer has come to a close and winter looms ahead. With snow only days away for many of us, now is the time to contact your local Patz Dealer to schedule fall preventative maintenance services.

Maintenance should be performed regularly to ensure your Patz equipment stays in optimal working order. These items should be serviced as outlined in your Patz product Operator’s Manuals:

Mixer-pic

Vertical Mixers

  • Change planetary oil and record on maintenance schedule
  • Grease PTO & drive line
  • Grease wheel bearings
  • Charge scale battery
  • Check knives and screw for wear

Manure Handling Equipment

  • Remove manure build up 
  • Clean corner wheels and drive unit(s)
  • Lubricate evenwind as needed
  • Insulate outdoor drive units
  • Change home position on shuttle box scrapers to prevent freezing

Gutter Cleaner

  • Remove excess manure build up
  • Lubricate as needed
Vertical-Pit-Pump

Pumps

  • Clean off excess build up
  • Lubricate as needed
  • Ensure discharge lines are able to drain back in to pit

Conveyors

  • Remove excess material and build up prior to freezing
  • Check belts and brushes
  • Ensure brush comes in contact with belt

Silo Unloaders

  • Check/adjust chain tension
  • Inspect for general wear and tear
  • If materials are frozen, adjust feed rate to match amp draw on motor
