JOB TITLE:  Human Resources Assistant (Part Time)          

NUMBER OF VACANCIES: 1 – 1st Shift           

PAY RANGE:  Up to $19.25 per hour.  Pay based on qualifications and experience.

Under the direction of and reports to: Human Resources Manager

Job Summary:

  • Perform various clerical and statistical assignments for the Human Resources Manager where a high level of confidentiality, integrity, business acumen is imperative and knowledge of the organization, procedures, and policies are essential.


  • Employee shall not, either during the period of employment or thereafter, except where authorized or directed by Patz in writing, disclose to others either verbally, electronically or otherwise, use for employee’s own benefit, copy, or make notes of any confidential information or trade secrets other than that which is in public knowledge, of or relating to Patz’ business, which may come to employee’s knowledge during employment with Patz.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Compose and type correspondence regarding personnel reports and procedures.
  • Compile a wide variety of regular and special reports selecting data from various sources which includes assisting in the preparation of the affirmative action plan.
  • Monitor all attendance line call-ins and forward e-mail messages from answering service to supervisors.
  • Maintain employment resumes, application forms, and applicant flow logs in line with company policy.
  • Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, employee leaves of absence, vacation, personal time records, etc.
  • Setup and complete testing, interviewing and new hire orientations.
  • Answers routine inquiries from inside and outside the company on employment verifications, and job openings in line with written company policy on these matters.
  • Maintain employee data collection system with activation/termination and daily processing.
  • Coordinate pre-employment physicals, drug screen and audio test appointments.
  • Aide departments in safety training materials and documents.
  • Prepare, scan, and review various documents for electronic filing from various departments.
  • Assist employees with vending machine issues and notify vending distributor of machines needing technical service.
  • Perform such tasks deemed necessary by Human Resources Manager.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Business, Leadership or Accounting desired and/or two years minimum human resource experience knowledge helpful but not required.
  • Tact, above average communication skills, ability to work effectively with both employees and managers.
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and employees.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must possess skills in typing, data entry and experience using Microsoft Office software.

Physical Demands:

  • In an 8-hour day the employee must stand/walk 1-4 hours, sit 6-8 hours, and drive 0-1 hours.
  • Must frequently use hand(s) for repetitive movement, single grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Must frequently bend and twist, and occasionally squat and reach.
  • Must perform Light Work, lifting 20 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of such objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job is in this category when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it involves sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls.

Typical Working Conditions:

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Located in an office with a minimal amount of noise and occasional distractions.
  • Operates office machines such as calculators, personal computer, printer, copier, fax, typewriter, paper shredder, and check signer.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times in all manufacturing areas:

  • Safety glasses with side shields.


  • Observe all safety rules and corporate policies.
