Job Summary
Working in accordance with verbal and written instructions and established procedure, and as assigned by the supervisor, perform a variety of routine duties.
Essential Duties
- Operate a forklift or crane as required to load/unload trucks and move materials throughout the factory and shipping area.
- Pull parts for orders and load packaged orders on trucks.
- Secure loads using chains and binders or ratchet straps.
- Report all parts shortages to the Supervisor or Shipping Coordinator.
- Securely wire and band parts as necessary.
- Using a computer, process pick-tickets for orders.
- Label items with part numbers for identification.
- Take photos of parts being pulled for orders and trucks that are loaded.
- Perform a variety of computer functions to manage inventory.
- Cycle count to verify inventory levels and adjust as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, sweeping as necessary.
- Observe all Corporate safety rules and regulations, including those for forklift operation.
- Perform routine daily inspection of forklift. Change tanks of propane as required and report any malfunctioning of equipment to the Supervisor.
- As required, operate 10-ton overhead crane observing all safety rules and regulations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license to pick up and deliver material to local vendors and customers.
- Perform a variety of additional duties as instructed by the Supervisor or Shipping Coordinator such as, small assembly jobs, crate or pallet construction, paint shop manual labor, receiving parts, etc.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
Physical Demands
- In an 8-hour day the employee must stand/walk 6-8 hours and drive 1-4 hours.
- Must frequently use hand(s) for repetitive movement single grasping, pushing, and pulling, and occasionally fine manipulation.
- Must frequently use foot/feet for repetitive movement as in operating foot controls.
- Must frequently bend, twist, squat, climb, and reach.
- Must perform Light Heavy Work, lifting 75 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
Typical Working Conditions
Located in a factory setting with a large amount of noise and distractions.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times in all manufacturing areas
